A funscript is a JSON-based file format (with the .funscript extension) that encodes timed positional data for interactive stroking devices. Each funscript maps movements to specific timestamps in a video, enabling precise synchronisation between on-screen action and real-world haptic feedback.
How the File Format Works
Inside every .funscript file is a JSON object containing an array of actions. Each action has two properties:
- at — the timestamp in milliseconds
- pos — the target position (0–100) of the device stroke
Players interpolate between actions to generate smooth motion. Higher action density means more detailed movement. Some advanced scripts also include multi-axis data for devices like the OSR2 and SR6.
