Creating funscripts (also called "scripting") is the process of mapping device movements to timestamps in a video. Skilled scripters can earn money by selling their work on Funscript.me or fulfilling community requests with bounties. Here is how to get started.

Scripting Tools

The community has developed several free tools for creating funscripts:

• OpenFunScripter (OFS) — The most popular desktop editor. Load a video, set keyframes on a timeline, and export as .funscript. Supports multi-axis editing.
• JoyFunScripter — Use a gamepad joystick to record movements in real-time while watching a video. Great for fast drafts.
• Funscript.io — A browser-based editor that requires no installation. Good for quick edits and small projects.

The Scripting Workflow

1. Choose a video — Pick a scene you enjoy and know well. Shorter videos (5–15 min) are easier to start with.
2. Open your editor — Load the video into OFS or your tool of choice.
3. Place keyframes — Scrub through the video and set position keyframes (0–100) at each change of direction. More keyframes = smoother motion.
4. Preview and refine — Play back the script with a connected device and fine-tune timing and positions.
5. Export — Save the .funscript file.
6. Publish — Upload to Funscript.me, set a price (or free), and start earning.

Tips for Quality Scripts

• Match the video rhythm precisely — viewers notice even small timing errors
• Vary intensity: slow teasing → fast action mirrors the on-screen pace
• Use the full 0–100 range for dynamic, immersive strokes
• Add a gentle idle motion during dialogue or non-action scenes
• Test on your device before publishing — what looks right on screen may feel wrong
• Include a preview GIF or description so buyers know the scripting style

Multi-Axis Scripting

Advanced creators can produce multi-axis scripts for devices like the OSR2 and SR6. Multi-axis scripts control additional movements such as twist, roll, and pitch, adding extra dimensions of realism. OFS supports multi-axis editing with separate channels for each axis.
